Abstract

In this study, vibration damping experiment on an actual shell structure (steel framed conical shell) was carried out to clarify damping characteristics of the shell, and also to aid in preparing a data base on damping ratios of shell and spatial structures for use in analyzing dynamic response. The following result has been obtained in the research. Damping ratio of the shell by microtremor observation of velocity is roughly 2%.
