Introduction
Abstract
Groundwater is generally potable at source, is available in-situ and has a low temporal variability making it the most important source of water for rural communities. Groundwater development is however complicated by highly variable hydrogeological conditions rendering its management fraught with uncertainty ( Taylor & Barrett, 1999 ). In crystalline basement aquifers (CBAs) 1 uncertainty is highest and the groundwater potential least.
