Catchment Water Balances and Water Balance Model
Abstract
An analysis of the catchment water balance can reveal the nature of the fluxes in the catchment, their absolute and relative magnitudes as well as their relationships to each other ( Cook, et al., 1998 ). Taken at short time scales, say monthly, the catchment water balance can indicate when direct groundwater recharge is likely to occur ( Da Silva, 1999 ).
