Introduction
Abstract
Human excreta may contain pathogens ( Feacham et al ., 1983 ) and therefore must be properly managed in any community. Lack of adequate treatment and disposal will lead to a high morbidity and mortality. According to WHO ( 2005 ), about five million people die annually due to lack of adequate sanitation and about 3 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation. Most of these people live in the developing world.
