Abstract

In this study the way in which shoreline wetlands and sediments of northern Lake Victoria are spatially distributed, factors regulating their distribution and possible ways in which they influence the ecological dynamics of the lake were examined. The aforementioned are among the many areas considered not well understood about the functioning of the lake. The underlying goal of the study was to build upon what was already known so that with the increased mass of knowledge, management interventions needed to halt the lake’s decline could more easily be identified. Below are the conclusions of the study.
