Abstract

This chapter presents the three classes of rainfall-runoff models: data-driven, conceptual and physically-based. Classification and sources of uncertainty in the context of rainfall-runoff modelling are described. Sources of uncertainty in data-driven modelling are also presented. The chapter also discusses the commonly used uncertainty representation theories of probability, fuzzy logic and entropy. Brief reviews of the uncertainty analysis methods used in rainfall-runoff modelling are given.
