Exploring the impact of a locally developed eprescribing system—an analysis of key stakeholder interviews
Abstract
This qualitative interview based study focuses on a locally-developed IT system being implemented at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As part of an overarching research programme of evaluating and adapting a hospital-based IT system, we are exploring the sociotechnical context of the design and implementation phases. The focus of this study is the e-prescribing functionality of the system operated through mobile tablet computers or at fixed stations on all in-patient wards.
