Preparation of operating theatres: Check list as safety tool for the prevention of risks linked to the use of drugs, devices and equipment
Abstract
The operation wards are very complex facilities because for each surgical treatment, the operating theatres use different equipment and more and more sophisticated surgical devices that need higher and higher skills and controls. Many human errors are due to malfunctioning and/or bad use of devices, thus it is absolutely necessary to secure the efficiency of the equipment in order to guarantee the safety of operating theatres.
