Abstract

Patient safety is a major global public health concern. Each year in Europe, approximately 10% of patients admitted to hospitals experience care-related harm or injury. The risk is higher in Intensive Care Units (ICU). Over the past decade, studies showing the incidence and causes of Adverse Events (AE) in various types of adult ICUs were published. However, there are few studies in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), a group that deserves continuous attention given the complexity of care.
