Abstract

Clinical Risk management is defined as “the culture, processes and structures that are directed towards realizing potential opportunities whilst managing adverse effects”. The most effective strategy to improve patient safety must combine coordinated actions and the systematic development of a true culture of safety. In this context, Clinical Risk Management is an important aspect of education for all Physicians and Healthcare Professionals. Unfortunately, few curricula currently exist to fulfill this educational need. Challenges of this approach is the implementation of the culture of safety within the degree course of Medicine. The aim of this proactive effort is to support ongoing clinical quality improvements.
