Validation of an adaptation of the ICPS framework for classifying adverse events
Abstract
We report on first validation test of an adaptation the system developed by the ICPS (International Classification for Patient Safety) working group of WHO (World Health Organization). The system was adapted for classifying adverse events collected by the Danish Patient Safety Database (DPSD). The Danish adaptation of the ICPS framework distinguishes between an compulsory part (categories of level 1 and 2) and an optional part, and in the paper we report on a validation test of the compulsory part.
