Abstract

Outcomes after a transplantation have traditionally measured only operative and long-term survival and complication rates. Health related quality of life is gaining a great importance as outcome measures, especially because of the intense resource utilization that transplantation demands. The benefits on the physical psychological and social domains of the sport and physical activity are well known and their role as a lifestyle factor for improving health status and long term outcomes has been widely investigated on the general population, despite more research is needed, several studies (i.e. S.K. Kjaer et al. 2007) have recently shown such a regular physical activity combined with a good eating habits are an effective adjuvant therapy towards the solid organ transplant recipients.
