Abstract

The realization that health care actually harms patients has intensified scrutiny of patient safety in the context of an increasingly complex health care. Health care professionals are expected to work while managing this complexity, providing evidence-based health care services and keeping patients safe, but unless they are properly educated and trained in patient safety concepts and principles.
