Abstract

Cataract surgery waiting lists are becoming longer in most services of industrialised countries because of ageing of the population and expanding indications associated to sophisticated minimally invasive outpatient surgery. The waiting list was more than one year for about 4300 patients at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Careggi (AOUC) in May 2010.
