Electronic Scanning for the Densitometry Analysis of Flat-Bed Separations
Abstract
As was mentioned in Chap. 5 , the desired analytic information in flat-bed separations is displayed in a form that can be regarded for further densitometric processing as a picture; many processing methods used in digital picture analysis can then be successfully applied [ 1 ]. The information content of a picture element (pixel) is carried by three variables: the × and y coordinates of the pixel, which specify its location in the picture plane, and its gray value. In densitometry color information is used to only a limited extent.
