Aquaporins in plants Clare Vander Willigen, Lionel Verdoucq, Yann Boursiac and Christophe Maurel
Abstract
The regulation of water movement across plant membranes is fundamental to both the maintenance of a dynamic water balance within the plant, and to volume flow of water through the whole body. Understanding these processes is central to plant biology, as they critically determine the performance of crops under varying environmental or culturing conditions.
