Single Error Correction in RNS
Abstract
In the next two chapters, we describe several algorithms for single and multiple error correction and detection in RRNS and the RNS-PC. This chapter is devoted to single error correction in RNS. Based on the concept of consistency checking and the coding theory framework, fast and superfast algorithms are derived for single error correction. The algorithms derived here are superior to the previous algorithms by at least an order of magnitude. Based on these algorithms, two architectures are designed for their hardware implementation.
