Abstract

Among companies that have used information systems (IS) to sustain competitiveness, a new kind of IS strategy is emerging. IS technology is being used not only to automate business tasks and processes, but also to turn the information itself into a powerful competitive weapon. Simple, effective techniques enable the IS infrastructure to deliver continuous, accurate, and useful information to executives, line managers, sales professionals, and front-line workers throughout the organization.
