Abstract

There is little doubt that the issue of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination of soil has become a topic of great interest to many during the past several years. While we all recognize that there is a wide variety of types of petroleum hydrocarbon soil contamination, my comments are directed, as were most of the papers presented at the conference, toward soil contamination caused by fuels such as gasoline, diesel, and heating oils.
