Abstract

In this chapter it is shown that for Zimbabwe the probability of occurrence of a rain-day is conditional on the occurrence of rain on the preceding day. For different class intervals of monthly rainfall, the probabilities of this Markov property and the probabilities of exceedance of rainfall on rain-days can be derived.
