Abstract

The linear thermal expansion coefficients (LTEC) of some silica glasses produced by the Nippon Silica Glass Co. Ltd have been measured in the temperature range from -50 to 250°C using a push-rod dilatometer, model DIL402C, made by NETZSCH — Gerätebau GmbH. The results are discussed and compared with the values previously obtained with an interferometric dilatometer developed at NRLM. The standard deviations of the reported values of LTEC are 2 —4x lO-’K -1 .
