Abstract

The PolyUrethane Raw Materials Analysis Committee PURMAC of the API evaluates and initiates analytical standards for polyurethane raw materials such as polyols and isocyanates. This poster describes the process used by the committee to evaluate potential methods and present them for acceptance by ASTM and the ISO organizations. Generally the procedure involves submission of a recommended method to the technical experts on the committee who represent the major suppliers of raw materials. As a committee, these experts evaluate these methods and generally conduct an Interlab Uniformity (Round Robin) test of the method to determine accuracy and precision. If accepted, these methods are then submitted by the committee to the standards organizations for publication
