Stepping Motors
Abstract
The designation of stepping motor (also known as step motor or stepper), comes not from its construction, as it were, but from its function. That is, motors which cause angular shift (distance in linear stepping motors) with the open loop in correspondence with the number of pulses received from an external source are known as stepping motors.
