Abstract

Referrals for neuropsychological assessment vary considerably as a func- tion of clinical setting, referral sources, special expertise of the practitioner, and any number of other variables. That said, it is also our experience that most referrals of children for comprehensive neuropsychological assessment involve some element(s) of Learning Disabilities (LD). Indeed, in some clin- ics, such referrals appear to constitute up to 75% or even 90% of clients. Thus, it appears appropriate to deal with this area of practice first and at some length.
