Finite element model for bed-load transport and morphological evolution
Abstract
We introduce here TSEF, a two dimensional numerical model for sediment bed-load transport and morphological evolution. TSEF has the same finite element structure as the 2D code TELEMAC solving the shallow water equations. Several numerical schemes are tested for solving the continuity equation : these methods and their results are described in the present paper The best results are obtained with a predictor-corrector scheme using a transformation of the equation into an advection equation. It also appears obviously that such a model must take into account the slope effect phenomena.
