Modelling in marine morphodynamics
Abstract
The state of the art in marine morphodynamics is described, with the emphasis on the analysis of processes and mechanisms in relation to mathematical modelling. The role of such models in research and practice is discussed. Research needs for the development of these models and the underlying physical knowledge are indicated.
