Asymptotic analytical solutions for inverted standard linear solid shallow shell on elastic half space under horizontal seismic force with Rayleigh damping
Abstract
In this study, the shell foundation is considered to be a viscoelastic medium as standard linear solid to reflect the inner friction which causes attenuation during the dymanic process in earthquake. Nonlinear Rayleigh damping is adopted so as the exciting as well as decaying situations are described. The governing equations are derived first and deduced to linearized ones by perturbation method. The asymptotic analytical solutions are obtained for each order of the small parameter, i.e. the nondimensional parameter for the nonlinear damping term.
