A semi-analytical ring element of slender torus shell type for the analysis of elbows
Abstract
A kind of semi-analytical ring elements of slender torus shell type for the stress and temperature field analysis of curved pipe segments are briefly formulated. Some test examples are presented to show that these elements are of higher accuracy and the element for stress analysis can correctly model the major factor in the behavior, namely the ovalling of the pipe cross section.
