Abstract

For the overhead engine valve train in common use, dynamic analysis model is established by means of finite element method(FEM) in this paper. With the second type of Lagrange’s equation, a dynamic analysis equation is obtained. The equation is simplified and solved by step-by-step integration method. The computed result is tested and verfied in experiments. Based on dynamic analysis, optimization model of cam profile is established, and it is solved by sequeuential linear programming method. In practical use, optimization has been carried out for cam profile of three types of valve train of CA6100, 12V240Z, 12V190 engines. With the same constraints as the original ones, the value of objective is increased distinctly.
