Benchmark tests in Mohr Coulomb elastoplasticity
Abstract
Benchmarks for Mohr Coulomb elastoplasticity, based on Prescribed Displacement Field format are developed. Perfect as well as hardening/softening plasticity are considered. The benchmarks can be used to ascertain if a particular code is capable of predicting flow on the Mohr Coulomb yield surface. Further a program’s capability of handling multiple active yield surfaces can be assessed. Differences between isotropic strain and work hardening hypotheses are highlighted.
