Abstract

Employing semi-analytical element method, this paper proposes a new calculating method for the interaction problem between pile against landslide and soil medium. The soil medium is divided into a number of piece elements, and the displacement shape functions of the elements are given as a product of piecewise polynomial expansion along one direction and analytical function expansion in the other two. There is a pile in every piece element. The interaction between the two components can be treated in the same equation. Numerical results show that the precision is satisfactory and the memory request and expense of computation is proper. The examples presented demonstrate the versatility and accuracy of the method.
