Abstract

Based on Mindlin*s plate theory and the knowledge of composite materials, a layered and distributed model is proposed for solving non—linear analysis of reinforced concrete plates. The main point of this research is to propose an approach of evaluating the transverse shear stresses and their effect on the strength. The fracture of the reinforced concrete plate under loading thus can be simulated. Corresponding finite element program is completed. The analytical results of a reinforced concrete plate show fair agreement with the experiments.
