Mechanical behaviour of base isolators and dynamical response of isolated buildings
Abstract
For the purpose of investigating mechanical behaviour of LRB (the lead — rubber bearing ) isolator and its isolation function for the building from the earthquake, two series of nonlinear finite element analysis were performed. Through these studies, the following results are obtained s the nonlinear behaviour of LRB under three kinds of important load case have been analyzed; the nonlinear seismic response for a given isolated building is studied, comparing with that for the same building non—isoated.
