Invited lecture: New methods for the optimization of complex structural systems
Abstract
After discussing aims and methods of structural optimization, some basic features, features of iterative continuum-based optimality criteria (COC) methods are briefly reviewed and some new applications in cross-section, generalized shape and layout optimization are presented. Finally, advantages and disadvantages of this technique are discussed.
