A combinatorial approach to optimal plastic design of structures
Abstract
A method is developed for optimal plastic design of frames using an static approach. A combinatorial method is employed for the formation of particular and complementary solutions, leading to highly localized self-equilibrating stress systems.An standard simplex method is then incorporated in the optimization process.
