Inelastic response of stiffened cylindrical shells to underwater shock waves considering fluid-structure interaction
Abstract
The interaction of the cylindrical shells and the surrounding water is studied and an improvement incremental finite-differences approach is presented. Assuming the water as an nonviscous and compressible fluid, the governing equation of the pressure disturbance is the basic equation of acoustics. To solve the coupled equations is to obtain the analytic solutions of the equation of acoustics at first. Then, on the boundaries the boundary motion is prescribed by the movement of the stiffened cylindrical shell in inelastic response. By means of numerical analysis the effect to the shells, which is affected by surrounding water, is to convert a set of added masses and the improvement incremental finite-differences approach is formed. Some selected numerical results are presented.
