The dynamic analysis of multiblock structures with unilateral constraints
Abstract
A method for the dynamic analysis of structures consisting of superimposed blocks is presented. The hypotheses made are those of rigid blocks and monolateral Winkler-type deformable joints. The dynamic analysis is carried out integrating the motion equations by means of the central differences method. The results reported were obtained from the analysis of an existing column as the characteristic acceleration parameters at the base vary.
