Abstract

The correct establishment of a model of structural mechanics is a prerequisite for designing strata control technique in the face area and the entries around the face. In the last ten years, the researches on theory and method for establishing the model taken aim at fixed quantity and directed against the local seam conditions have gained great successes. This paper introduces some achievements in the researches accomplished by the Research Center for Strata Mechanics, Shandong Institute of Mining and Technology, which include the theory for establishing the model, the structural parameters, and the method for determining the stress distribution etc. The achievements in the researches strive to establish the model developed from “qualitative stage” to “quantitative stage” directed against local seam conditions
