New concept of destressing in outburst prone rocks
Abstract
The problem of very intensive outbursts of sandstone and CO^ in Slany shafts showed on the necessity to find new concept of destressing. The new concept is based on large scale specific fracturing of the rock below the shaft floor. Results of mathematical modelling theoretically confirmed expected principles of the idea. The hydrofracturing and water jet technology seem to be suitable for practical application of the concept.
