Abstract

Evaluation of induced seismicity development - of number and energy of seismic phenomena - is applied in Ostrava-Karviná Coalfield already for some time as one of the methods of assessment of rockburst occurrence risk. Until recently there was no method available which should enable to adjoin information on mining intensity to regional seismicity development evaluation in an adequate manner. The proposed procedure of evaluation of mining intensity makes possible both the definition of area in which a correlation between worked-out and induced seismicity is obvious and a quantitative determination of this correlation. This determination possesses also a prognostic importance. The methodic procedures are completed by examples of seismicity development analyses prior to rockburst occurrence.
