Underwater tunnel piercing, state of art and recent experiences
Abstract
A short survey of the most frequently used design of submerged piercing of tunnels is given. The paper deals with at least three dominating methods and some varieties and points out hazardous consequences if the design is incorrect or if the constructional work deviates from preconditions which are vital to the physical processes involved in the blasting.
