Comparison on design methods of temporary supports using Sanliurfa tunnels
Abstract
In this paper comparative analyses on various tunnel design methods of temporary supports are given with applications to the Sanliurfa tunnels. The empirical method consisting of conventional analysis, geomechanics classification and Q-system, arid the analysis based on the convergence behaviour of tunnel, namely convergence - confinement method are compared by considering the rock conditions and the support systems. Comparison of various methods about temporary support is based upon the support systems, rock loads, construction sequences and cost analysis.
