Abstract

The ice conditions during the formation, growth and decay of ice in Rupert Bay were measured for two winters and, with satellite data, were interpreted in function of climatic and hydrological conditions. The analysis made possible the quantification of the average and extreme ice conditions that are needed in order to predict by computation the effects of modified river discharges on ice conditions when the Nottaway-Broadback-Rupert hydroelectric complex will be built.
