Vibration monitoring of hydropower machinery
Abstract
Vibration analysis is used both in trouble shooting and as general condition control on hydro turbines and generators. In Norway, a large number of vibration monitoring systems are installed, mainly based on measurements of the shaft vibrations. Systems have been developed for performing condition control with a suitable combination of on-line monitoring and periodic measurements.
