The effect of bending stiffness of soil nails on wall deformation
Abstract
Finite element analysis has been carried out on a trial soil nailed slope, in which the nails were modelled as tensile bars and as beams with different bending stiffnesses to take account of the reinforcing role of the grout. The results of the analysis show that the inclusion of bending stiffness has an insignificant effect on the deformation behaviour of the wall model.
