Displacement controlled pull-out test of geotextile in granular soil
Abstract
Consideration has been given to evaluate frictional bond characteristics of an Indian made non woven needle punched geotextile by performing a series of pull-out tests in a newly developed test setup. More than sixty tests have been carried out in order to evaluate the effect of aspect ratio of the geotextile, surcharge loading, stepped increment in normal loading, flexible footing base, etc. Effectiveness of passive anchorage or prestressing of reinforcement layer(s) at the ends have been investigated by the new experimental setup.
