This Atlas presents information on the amount of solar radiation reaching the earth’s surface, with a temporal detail of one month and a spatial resolution of 30 to 50 km, over all regions of Europe, Asia Minor, the continent of Africa and also most parts of the Atlantic Ocean. Additional statistical information is given with the same detail on the day-to-day variability, which is primarily caused by cloud systems of various origins.
