Abstract

The two relationships : A line graph showing x (t) versus t. The x-axis represents time t, while the y-axis represents the variable x (t). The solid line shows a fluctuating pattern with peaks and troughs, while the dashed line shows a smoother, declining trend. The solid line initially rises, reaches a peak, and then declines with smaller fluctuations. The dashed line starts at a higher value and gradually decreases over time. https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href=" https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003761020/e10523ab-dbe3-4c4f-8f3e-863ae3683950/content/pg12_1.tif "/> https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="block"> x ( t ) = E ( t ) ⋅ cos ⁡ ϕ ( t ) # ( 6 ) y ( t ) = E ( t ) ⋅ sin ⁡ ϕ ( t ) # ( 7 )
