Abstract

The depth of the FORMATIONS is a property which is not significant in the MEASUREMENTS or the RECORDINGS. in the ELECTRICAL METHODS using continuous current, the depth of penetration depends mainly upon the RESISTIVITY OF THE FORMATIONS and the length of the DIPOLE through which the current is input. In the methods using alternating current and therefore in the ELECTROMAGNETIC METHODS, the depth of penetration depends upon the resistivity of the formations and the FREQUENCY of the current.
