Abstract

The multiplexer is an ultra-fast electronic commutator. In the course of a cycle of multiplexing of which the duration is defined as the SAMPLE RATE ( 1,2 or 4 ms ) the multiplexer successively puts each of the 32 entry channels in contact with the only exit channel. A schematic timing diagram illustrates the sample rate and duration of a circuit of the multiplexer. The x-axis represents the sample rate, ranging from 1 to 33, while the y-axis shows the duration of a circuit of the multiplexer. Multiple traces are depicted, labeled as Trace Number 1, Trace Number 15, Trace Number 24, and Trace Number 32. The traces intersect at various points, indicating the sampling process. The diagram provides a visual representation of how the multiplexer cycles through different traces over time. https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href=" https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003761020/e10523ab-dbe3-4c4f-8f3e-863ae3683950/content/pg198_2.tif "/> The 32 entry channels are, in the main, connected to the amplifiers of the 24 TRACES. The exit channel is connected to the analoçue to digital converter. For a STEP of 1 ms there are 32000 commutations per second.
